Imagined Panes

October 22 - November 4, 2025

Through vibrant qamaria windows, the stories of Jewish ancestry come alive.

I grew up imagining Yemen — the home of my father and ancestors — as a place I might one day return to. That return never came. Instead, I find myself looking through the windows captured in others’ photographs, drawn to the patterns and colours that mirror a home I’ve never seen but somehow remember. Each design becomes a fragment of belonging, a glimpse of a home I cannot enter, yet one that still lives within me.
